For now, I just wanted to remark how perfectly symmetrical things are... my first international trip ever - a big Asian backpacking tour after graduating from Berkeley - started on a Cathay flight to Hong Kong. I've always had an affection for this place since that initial trip, and it's really fitting that this project - in many ways a culmination of the journey I started on that first initial adventure - starts the same way!

Hong Kong
Just landed in the Hong Kong airport after a very long flight that started with crazy security at LAX and an hour-long delay on the plane. Can't write much as I'm still in the airport utilizing their free internet here (something I wish more American airports would offer!) I've got a couple pictures to post, but that will have to wait until I get my luggage settled in somewhere.

i think i wrote my comment here the first time around and i still can't find it. so here's hoping it makes it the 2nd time around. i think you should go to mcd's when you're down and out as it invariably happens during geographic therapy and find your next step there like how it was in beijing. i still like my donate your hair idea when you get to india. there are local (where i'm at now) organizations that will collect hair for some cause or other. here's one i just found out about which made me think of you http://www.locksoflove.org/donate.html. btw j said "wayne" a bunch of times in the car today
