It is a good reminder for all of us, that no matter where we live, we are lucky - and because of how lucky we are, we have a responsibility to those less fortunate. If anyone knows of ways to help out in Haiti, please do post them here.

My heart....
...goes out to everyone in Haiti. One of my sister's friends actually just left Port-Au-Prince a couple days ago for a business trip back in the US. It sounds like many of her friends there are safe, but so many others are not. For many of us, we never even consider places like Haiti (or Aceh or central Sichuan) and the poverty that exists there goes unnoticed until something catastrophic like this happens. Only when a disaster strikes do we begin to see their living conditions and the destruction that can occur in a natural disaster.
It is a good reminder for all of us, that no matter where we live, we are lucky - and because of how lucky we are, we have a responsibility to those less fortunate. If anyone knows of ways to help out in Haiti, please do post them here.
