Long Days, No Internet

It's been a rough slog here in South Africa and Lesotho, and we've been hard pressed to find affordable and working internet. Instead, we've spent most of our time driving the great distances between our stops, with barely even any time to go and do some hiking in these amazingly beautiful areas. On average, we've covered about 400-450km a day in driving after leaving Lesotho on April 24, and we have made it all the way down to the start of the Garden Route, right east of Plettenberg Bay. In between, we've driven through Golden Gate National Park, visited Royal Natal National Park, took sunset pictures at Cathedral Peak in the northern Drakensbergs, seen the Wild Coast at both Coffee Bay and Chintsa, and stopped at the world's highest bungy jump. It has been stunning, and South Africa offers incredible natural beauty for anyone with the time to see it. I really wish I could have done more hikes and spent more time camping in the various stops. But we have to keep going. Cape Town by May 1, and leaving Cape Town by jet plane on May 4. There is not much give in our schedule.

In any case, I'll be posting some more "catch up" entries when I can, and also try to stay up to date. Apologies for not being more on the ball! Check out our little car in the picture below. (Bello, you should love this sucker! Hehe.)
