Breakin', alive and well in Uganda

I've been camped out in Uganda for the past 5 days now, mostly because it's relaxed and accessible here, but also because a friend of mine lives here. It's been a bit of a rest stop in some ways, as I've not really gotten around to doing much. Probably the main event has been rafting the Victoria Nile in Jinja - an all day affair that saw Young and I go through 4 grade 5 rapids and numerous other ones. Closer to home, we've also been doing a little of the nightlife scene here in Kampala. The general safety and small size of the city, in addition to the visible ex-pat community, are a combination that makes going out rather easy here, in stark contrast to Nairobi where my friends have suggested I not be out on the streets past dusk.

One of the highlights has been the impromptu break-dancing battle we saw at a Goethe Institut hosted party in an old soap factory in the Mbuya district of Kampala. I just caught the last few minutes of it, but I am so impressed by these guys that I thought I'd share it with you all here.
